MOTO

Motorcycle means a vehicle with two, three or four wheels or caterpillar (s) and runner (s) on snow, on which the driver moves astride, powered by an engine, led to the aid of handlebars

History

In 1868, the first two-wheeled vehicles with a steam engine are emerging in Europe and the United States. The first patent was filed in 1871 in France.

The first motorcycle race in France took place in 1896 among eight runners connecting Paris Nantes between 8 competitors. The 150 km race was won by Mr. Knight on his tricycle Michelin-Dion 4 h 10 min 37 sec. The second race took place the following year, connecting Paris to Dieppe at an average speed of 30 km / h. Subsequently, the bike went through numerous improvements that made it a vehicle of its own. The simplicity of design compared to the car and cost less aroused great enthusiasm from many manufacturers. More than 2500 brands of motorcycles were well established in total. The first race of two-wheeled vehicles was organized in England in 1897 for a distance of 1600 m. In the early 20th century, racing motorcycles enjoyed a major boom and attracted huge crowds.

However, Europe and especially France, the 1950s marked the decline of the big bike. At that time, the car began to democratize and represented the industrial future of developed countries. The rebirth of the bike when the early 1970s through fabrications of Japan and the Honda 750 Four. Meanwhile, European manufacturers of motorcycles had almost all disappeared, until the Second World War, the fastest motorcycles were mostly British (Triumph). After the war, the Italian manufacturers (Ducati, Guzzi, Garelli, Gilera, MV Augusta) and German (BMW) took over. Later, the majority of marks were from central Europe and Japan. The Japanese campaign to conquer the world market was phenomenal. In almost all disciplines of motorcycling, the Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki have classified the first places.

The circuits

- A circuit is said to be closed when it is fully fenced and prohibits any movement other than under competition.

- A circuit is considered open when the competition takes place on roads or paths or tracks concurrently open to normal traffic. The open circuits are mainly used in the tests say endurance and consistency.

At the age of 12 years, young people can participate in the championships of France 50cc or formula promotion provided they obtain the certificate of competency in motor sports

The race is a race where speed is the only ranking factor.

The lap record is the time of fastest lap.

Test

The road races are divided into speedways, hill climbs, circuit regularity.

Speedways

The circuits are speed races in a closed circuit, continuous hard surface, using roads kept, temporarily banned the normal circulation, speed up the only ranking factor.

The departures are given in groups. For each class the race can be contested in a single course or two or more series. There are three categories of prototypes speed: 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP premier class (before 2002: 500cc).

The world championship takes place on sixteen Grands Prix including a dozen in Europe. The first 15 to mark the arrival points.

 The breakdown is as follows: 1st: 25 points - 2nd: 20 pts - 3rd: 16 pts - 4th: 13 pts - 5th: 11 pts - 6th: 10 pts - 7th: 9 pts - 8th: 8 pts - 9th: 7 pts - 10th: 6 pts - 11th: 5 pts - 12th: 4 pts - 13th: 3 pts - 14: 2 pts and 15th: 1 pt.

The differences between the three categories of motorcycle speed :

125 cm3

- A cylinder of 45 horses.

- Weight: 70 kg. (132 kg including driver)

- Its top speed is around 240 km / h.

- It takes 4 "2 to 100 km / h.

250 cm3

- A two-cylinder 100 hp.

- Weight: 95 kg.

- Its top speed is around 280 km / h.

- It is 3 "5 to 100 km / h.

MotoGP/500 cm3 (the F1 of the motorcycle)

In 500 cc, there are three categories. :

- The twin 135-horsepower. Weight: 101 kg;

- The three-cylinder 150 hp. Weight: 116 kg.

- The four-cylinder 230 horsepower. Weight: 131 kg. The top speed is 350 km / h.

- They are 2 "9 to 100 km / h.

In Moto GP, machinery increased from 990cc to 800cc in 2007.

Some speed records in Motorcycles GP 4-stroke (500cc 2-stroke Pre-2002)

- 309.2 km / h: Capirossi on Honda in 1995 (Mugello)

- 347.2 km / h: Capirossi on Ducati 2004 (Barcelona)

Superbike

A Superbike is a 4-stroke motorcycle with an engine capacity of 1000 cm3 max. The Superbikes are not prototypes as speed. Derivative of a series model, the framework must remain original. Only brakes, suspensions, size and wheel size can be chosen by the stables while other changes are regulated. The engine develops approx. 210 horsepower for a top speed of 320 km / h (cons 230 horsepower and 350 mph in MotoGP). Unlike MotoGP tire choice is taxed in the world championship.

Hill Climb

The hill climbs are speed races contested in upward direction on roads guarded with high elevation and temporarily banned in the normal circulation, speed up the only ranking factor.

Unless special exceptions granted by the government and the FFM, the departures are given separately to each competitor with a gap of time sufficient to prevent drivers from being led to double.

Competitors may have to perform one or more mounted, classification shall be established either on the best time achieved, either on the mean time.

Rally

These are events played on open roads and unguarded, the mileage specified property and strictly timed schedule, open to normal traffic, during which competitors must support a route required an average rate set by the organizer. Schedules of events may be provided in the form of sprint racing, competition handling, braking test, etc..

Racing Track

The circuit forms a cross loop length from 1000 to 2000 meters and a width of 10 to 30 meters. The terrain is very much with elevation changes of slope.

The world championship has between fourteen and sixteen innings. The World Championship motocross takes place since 1957.

- In 2001 and 2002, the Grand Prize which includes the three classes (125cc, 250cc and 500cc). As in speed, it took place in a single round of 35 minutes and two laps (before 2001: two runs of 40 minutes and two laps) with thirty drivers at baseline (before forty).

- Since 2003, there is a GP championship Motocross: MX 1, comprising the premier class 4-stroke with a cylinder capacity of between 290 and 450 cm3 and 2-time with a cylinder ranging from 175 to 250 cm3. MX 2 The smallest category is open to 4-stroke bikes 175 to 250 cm3 and 2-time 100 to 126 cm3.
